Digital displays with Control Limit outputs can be configured for a range of signal processing functions. Alternatively complete signature analysis controllers with graphical display are available for Press Force Monitoring, Torque Monitoring, Riveting, Clinching for various assembly applications. 	Oven Temperature Profile w 4010
	As a temperature controller with eight independently programmable TTL-level logic I/O,the Daytronic Model 4010 is ideal for multi-temperature profile operations. In the event of a broken wire or thermocouple the 4010 will report an off scale reading. The panel can display individual temperatures or a continuos live average.

AD Board Vibration Analysis or Damping System

Analysis of vibrations is required in research and development of an “active damping system” that minimizes the shaking of buildings due to earthquakes and winds. Previously, research was conducted using costly digital memory and analyzers but handling of data was difficult because of a nonstandard data format. Therefore, a measurement system, bothe inexpensive and versatile, has been developed using PCs and A/D boards. This system, used for waveform display of sensor signals, signal analysis processing etc. is contributing to the research and development of vibration control systems.

Airbag Initiators

With its RESISTOMAT® model 2329-V801 burster presents a fast and capable measurement device for testing the resistance values of pyrotechnic igniters used in gas generators for airbags or seat-belt tensioners.
The ignition tablet’s resistance is about 2 Ohm and is typically measured with a current source of 10 mA and a max. load voltage of 2 V. These safety-related limits are necessary to reliably avoid the unintentional ignition of the tablet during the test phase.

	Automatic Sorting of Springs
	In this Daytronic Model 4077 system, helical compression springs are automatically sorted into different shipping containers—or scrap bins—based on their relative stiffness. The springs are individually sorted in 10-gram ranges between 110 and 190 grams.

In a part mounting process of a production line, image processing technologies are used to measure the deviation of parts from the criteria and position the parts. However, a purpose-built image processing system is costly and does not always have suitable functions. Thus, an image processing system based on embedded computers has been developed and put to use in the positioning procedure.

Measurement of Thickness w 2 LVDT

Accepting two independent displacement signals, the Daytronic Model 4032 allows direct measurement of thickness when the two inputs are summed by means of an internal "Calculate" channel. The 4032 supplies regulated excitation then demodulates, filters and ampluifies the resulting signal. The "MAX minus MIN" function is useful when you need to know the precise range of an excursive phenomenon like runout, wobble or looseness. For each input, each of the three predefinable limit zones of the tared reading is tied to a specific nonlatching output.

	Measuring Amount of Conveyed Material
	This system determines the amount of clay (or other material) processed. The Daytronic Model 4040 measures the data (the speed of cogs)that can be sensed by pulse transformer transducers. A supervisory computer, through the 4040 Optional serial interface adaptor, calculates the amount of conveyed material by multiplying the load by the belt speed.

	Online Parts Inspection
	The model 4033 accepts inputs from 1-2 eddy current proximity sensors. It converts each input signal to a voltage directly proportional to the distance of a ferrous material. MAX and MIN functions can be reset by the front panel. For each input, each of the 3 predefinable limit zones are tied to a specific nonlatching output.

Press Force Bushing Suspension

Adapt Press Force Monitoring with a graphical representation of the Insertion Force vs Displacement on a Suspension Bushing Press Operation. The intent is to utilize the 9310 monitor to differentiate between a Press Insertion Profile that produces good parts, a Press Insertion Profile that produces parts with defects.

The 9310 can accommodate the Strain Gauge Input from the Force Sensor directly and the standard analog input of 0 to 5 Vdc from the displacement sensor.

Press Force Defect Detection

To set up 9310 so that the 9310 can differentiate between a good press with good parts, or parts with defects or bad parts. After setting up the 9310 and taking many curves:
Curves of good presses and parts where very constant.

Some parts chattered as they where pressed in by setting a 5 Hz filter on the Y channel smoothed curve out. There is a clear difference between the deformed or misaligned parts and a good part that are aligned. From the Data collected a pass window and a block window would be recommended for the set up of the 9310.

	Press-Fit Monitoring with Signature Analysis
	For any process where a Force and Displacement are measured, a Force vs. Displacement signature can be built with the Burster 9310 DIGIFORCE. When Quality is a priority, simple limit monitoring is often insufficient. A max/min limit approach is well suited for simple processes. However, figure 1a) and 1b) show two very different curves that will pass given a tradition Limit Monitoring Approach.
