The Dytran model 4105C is a single channel, compact, portable, battery powered current source power unit designed for IEPE accelerometers, pressure transducers and force sensors. The power unit supplies 2 mA of constant current to operate the IC amplifier built in the IEPE sensor. Model 4105C decouples the sensor signal which is superimposed on the sensor DC bias voltage. It blocks the sensor bias and adds voltage gain of X1, X10 or X100 to the dynamic sensor signal. A 4-position rotary switch that also serves as the power on/off switch selects the specific gain.
Units feature BNC “Sensor” and “Output” jack connectors and filtering options. A 50 µA full scale DC voltmeter on the front panel provides “Battery Test” and “Fault Monitor” functions. Power to operate both the sensor and the gain amplifier is supplied by two 9-Volt transistor radio type dry cell batteries. The unit is designed to make replacement of these batteries very simple.
