The HSTA and HSTAR 750 Series from Macro Sensors are designed to meet the demanding requirements of position measurement applications across various industries. These 3/4 inch (19 mm) diameter AC-operated Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDTs) are built to withstand high temperatures up to 400°F and are hermetically sealed in stainless steel to IEC standard IP-68, ensuring durability and reliability in hostile environments.
These sensors stand out for their versatility, featuring a range of ±0.050 inch (±1.25 mm) to ±10.0 inches (±250 mm), and are known for their high resolution, exceptional repeatability, low hysteresis, and the highest sensitivity for optimal linearity with a maximum linearity error of ±0.25% of full range output. The HSTA model offers an axial connector, while the HSTAR model provides a radial connector for a through-bore design, facilitating better mechanical support, core guidance, and easier maintenance in dusty or dirty conditions.
Macro Sensors offers customization options for the HSTA/HSTAR 750 Series, including Teflon® bore liners, metric threaded cores, and mounting accessories, catering to specific application needs. Special constructions for mild nuclear radiation resistance, immersion in pressurized fluids, and higher operating temperatures are also available upon request.
Though compatible with conventional differential input LVDT signal conditioners, Macro Sensors recommends their own line of LVDT signal conditioners for optimal performance with the HSTA/HSTAR 750 Series LVDTs, ensuring accurate and reliable position measurement in even the most challenging environments.
