PT8101 - Description

The PT8101 cable-actuated sensor represents a pinnacle of engineering for industrial environments demanding precise linear position measurement. Capable of measuring distances from 2 to 60 inches, this sensor integrates seamlessly with basic panel meters or programmable controllers, providing accurate data across full stroke ranges with an accuracy of ±0.1 to 1.0% and repeatability of ±0.02%. Constructed to endure, the PT8101 offers enclosure options in powder-painted aluminum or stainless steel, each designed to withstand the rigors of industrial use. The stainless steel or thermoplastic measuring cable is engineered to resist stretching and wear, further enhancing the unit's reliability.

The Celesco Velocity Limiting System (VLS) is a safety-enhancing option for the PT8000 Series cable extension transducers, designed to limit cable retraction speed to a safe 40 to 55 inches per second. This feature prevents the measuring cable from reaching damaging speeds during accidental releases, making it particularly beneficial for mobile applications with frequent cable disconnections and reconnections. The VLS effectively minimizes the risk of downtime due to cable mishandling or attachment failures.
