PT9101 - Description

The PT9101 stands as a robust solution within the realm of cable-actuated sensors, specifically tailored for long-range applications demanding high accuracy in linear position measurement. Capable of spanning distances up to 1700 inches, this sensor is a cornerstone for industries that require reliable data over extensive ranges. The PT9101 is versatile, offering potentiometer options of 500, 1K, 5K, or 10K ohms to accommodate different sensitivity and resolution needs, ensuring compatibility across a wide spectrum of control systems.

This NEMA 4 rated transducer encapsulates the essence of practicality and efficiency. Its installation process is straightforward, negating the need for perfect parallel alignment and featuring a compact retracted length of just 6 inches for easy integration into tight spaces. The PT9101 delivers on the promise of accuracy (±0.10% full stroke) and repeatability (±0.02% full stroke), backed by an essentially infinite resolution, thanks to its plastic hybrid precision potentiometer with a life expectancy of at least 250,000 cycles.

Available in aluminum or stainless steel, the PT9101 is designed to withstand the harshest environments, from -40° to 200°F, complemented by IP68/NEMA 6 protection against water and dust ingress. The sensor also offers a patented Velocity Limiting System (VLS) option to mitigate the risk of damage from free release scenarios, safeguarding the device during mobile applications that entail frequent cable disconnections and reconnections.

VLS Option

The PT9101 offers an optional Celesco Velocity Limiting System (VLS) for enhanced safety, designed to cap cable retraction speeds at 40 to 55 inches per second for the single spring option and 40 to 80 inches per second for the dual spring option. This feature ensures the measuring cable does not reach damaging speeds during accidental releases, making it particularly suited for mobile applications with regular cable disconnections and reconnections, thus safeguarding against costly downtime caused by mishandling or attachment failures
