EGCS-D5 - Description

The EGCS-D5 is a rugged, fluid-damped piezoresistive shock accelerometer designed for extreme impact and dynamic test environments. Engineered with a full bridge strain gage configuration, it provides DC response with critical damping, ensuring accurate signal fidelity even under rapid shock events. The sensor is available in a wide dynamic range from ±50g up to ±10,000g, and includes mechanical over-range stops capable of withstanding shocks up to 20,000g.

With its IP65-rated epoxy-sealed stainless steel housing, the EGCS-D5 is ideal for high-impact applications such as metal-to-metal impact, weapons testing, automotive crash testing, and heavy construction environments. It features a flat frequency response up to 10kHz (when paired with an inline amplifier), excellent linearity (<1%), and low transverse sensitivity (<3%). Internal temperature compensation and a wide operating range of -40°C to +120°C ensure performance stability in harsh conditions. An optional inline amplifier (Model 145) provides a 30x gain and 20kHz low-pass filtering for high-g range measurements.
